Film

Farming can feel out of reach for young and beginning growers. It’s not just the start-up costs, it’s the knowledge and experience needed to succeed. We are lucky to have a mentor like Cerro Vista Farm’s Daniel Carmona.

We started Cultivo to preserve local farming knowledge and help the next generation learn to grow in this region. We want young people in the Questa area to have opportunities for meaningful work close to home.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Cultivo, and to the mentors and young farmers who are showing that Questa’s agricultural traditions can continue to thrive.

Thank you to the LOR Foundation for producing this film and special thanks to Mark Totte who filmed and edited this short documentary.

Deep gratitude to the mentors and young people who show up each season to learn and practice the art of farming. Thank you as well to our community, local organizations and businesses for their support – including the Sangre de Cristo Valley Market, the North Central Food Pantry, Questa Farmers Market, and our community and CSA members.
